Antioch Methodist
We do not know much about this charming little Methodist chapel, now located on the grounds of Magnolia Manor near Moultrie. Historical accounts suggest that the congregation was first organized in 1860 in the small community of Magnolia, now known as Pebble City, in Mitchell County.
The structure you see today was built in 1882 and originally named Magnolia Church. In 1915, the congregation adopted the name Pebble City Methodist, which it kept until 1994. That year, the chapel was moved to its current location and carefully restored, ensuring its preservation for future generations. Its architecture is both simple and graceful, reflecting the understated beauty common to rural sanctuaries of the late 19th century. Inside, the design remains true to its heritage, with an atmosphere of quiet reverence that invites reflection.
Today, the building is known as Antioch Methodist and serves the residents of Magnolia Manor, continuing a legacy of faith that began more than 160 years ago.
