Jordon Chapel Methodist

We have limited historical information on Jordon Chapel Methodist. The details below come from the SGA Methodist Archives. If you have additional history to share, please contact us at info@hrcga.org.

Jordon Chapel Methodist was founded by Mrs. William B. Jordon. The land for the church was deeded on October 8, 1908, with a portion given by John H. Giles and an additional two acres donated by Tom Jordon. The adjacent cemetery was fenced in memory of Sara Giles Williams. Throughout the years, this church has been a part of the Byron community. In 1919, the Byron Circuit—under the leadership of Rev. J. M. Rustin—included Byron, Jordon’s, Shiloh, Wesley Chapel, Liberty, and Walden churches. As of 1982, the church had 18 members.
